It sounds like you might need to call again, but just explain that the partial digits weren’t enough and they can escalate that request. Probably won’t make your kid happy right now but soon, and it will totally get fixed. It may take a day or two but it just shows up automatically at this point. At that point they’ll look at your sons account make sure nothing weird is there and then at that point just credit his account the value of that gift card. What they finish they escalate the request to them to let them know the code isn’t recoverable. So at Nintendo when you call in they only give them partial digits so between the two of you you couldn’t collude and figure out bought codes and just redeem them.Īnd it sounds like you’re at this point - because I was - if the partial digits aren’t enough to get the code they have to make a request with their internal risk/recovery team that is only M-F. Those cards they’re using are prone to this sort of thing. Hope you see this but I did this recently myself. The first step as I already stated is to contact the store. The response would be again to go to the store it was purchased from as Steam didn't sell it to them. Laws and regulations change all over the world, and I am no expert, so your mileage may vary In short, if you're expected to "damage" it in order to reveal a code, that damage shouldn't also destroy the code - if so it's a faulty product and you should be entitled to your money back. I personally would argue that even if I had damaged it, I'd done so in the proper and normal use of the item. You've had money come out of your account to buy an item that isn't fit for purpose, the question is do you have a leg to stand on if its you or the store that damaged it.
